Privacy Policy

starcrossed.tv (the "Service") is a product of Six Wands Studios LLC ("Six Wands Studios," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose information when you use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

We collect information you submit directly through the Service, such as the contents of feedback messages you send us through the in-product Feedback widget. We do not require account creation, and we do not solicit your name, email address, or phone number.

Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Service, we automatically collect:

• An anonymous identifier stored in a browser cookie (sc_anon_id), used to attribute reactions, tags, presence, and feedback to a consistent participant in the watch room. This identifier is not linked to your real-world identity.
• Watch-room activity, including timestamps of reactions and tags you create, the room you joined, and a periodic presence heartbeat. Other viewers in the same room can see your randomly-assigned display name together with your current position in the episode (for example, "Crimson Comet 41:43"), which is what allows the room to sync to one another.
• Comments you attach to a tag. These are public to other viewers in the room, shown alongside your randomly-assigned display name. Do not put anything in a comment that you would not want other viewers to read.
• Basic page-view data (URL, anonymous identifier, display name) used to understand traffic and diagnose issues.
• Server access logs maintained by our hosting provider, which may include IP address, request path, response status, and timestamp.
• A per-visit record used for operational analytics, which includes IP address, browser user agent, timezone, and the path visited. This is retained by us, separately from the hosting provider's logs, and is visible only to site administrators.

Feedback Submissions

When you submit feedback through our products, we automatically collect the page URL, your browser user agent, viewport size, an anonymous identifier, and your IP address along with your message, in order to triage and reproduce reported issues.

2. How We Use Information

We use information collected through the Service for the following purposes:

1. To operate and improve the Service, including providing watch-room features such as sync, presence, reactions, and tags.
2. To respond to support inquiries and reproduce reported issues.
3. To diagnose technical issues and monitor the operational health of the Service.
4. To protect the Service against fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
5. To comply with applicable legal obligations.

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information collected through the Service in the following limited circumstances:

1. To comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
2. To enforce the acceptable-use expectations described in this Policy, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Six Wands Studios LLC, our users, or others.
3. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, in which case the recipient will be bound by terms substantially similar to those described in this Policy.

We may share aggregated, anonymized, or otherwise non-personally identifiable information for any purpose.

4. Third-Party Content and Services

Poster art, backdrops, and episode metadata are served directly from The Movie Database (TMDB). Because your browser requests those images from TMDB's content delivery network, TMDB receives your IP address and user agent as part of that request. We do not control TMDB's handling of that data; see TMDB's own privacy policy.

The Service does not embed third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

Where the Service links to a streaming provider, following that link takes you to a third party governed by its own terms and privacy policy.

5. Viewer Comments and Moderation

Comments you attach to a tag are published to other viewers in the same watch room. You can report another viewer's comment, and you can mute a viewer so that their comments are hidden from you.

When a comment is reported, it may be withheld from other viewers pending review. We retain the text of reported comments even after they are withheld or removed, because a report cannot be reviewed or acted upon once its subject has been deleted. Reports are retained for the same reason.

We do not currently offer a self-service deletion path for comments. If you want a comment you wrote removed, contact us at the address below.

6. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

7. Data Security

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information collected through the Service. However, no security system is perfect, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of any information.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect upon posting to the Service. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
